Award Winning Daylilies Start Here
The Always Green Nursery Guide to Deciphering Award Winning Daylilies:
Daylilies have often been known to start as single plants in a long-forgotten garden, but in the rights hands those lonesome plants can become collector’s items very quickly. While it’s hard to say what new varieties will be chosen to be propagated and sold on a mass-scale, it is easy to see how beautiful the results of breeders can be!
What awards can daylilies win?
The following awards are given by the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) annually:
- SSM–Silver Stout Medal. This is the highest honor a daylily can receive from the AHS. It is awarded to the most outstanding daylily.
