Day Light Savings Time - Check Batteries in Detectors
Day Light Saving Time - Check Your Batteries in Detectors
Day Light Saving Time is fast approaching.
It is also a good time to:
- check the batteries in your Smoke Detectors
- check the batteries in your Carbon Monoxide Detectors
- check your Fire Extinguisher
- change your furnace filter
Day Light Saving Time Begins March 11 at 2:00am.
Most cities are now requiring Carbon Monoxide Detectors. It is a city ordinance in Chicago and now will be a requirement in the State of Illinois beginning in January 2007.
If you have a hard wired Smoke Detector, it should have a battery backup in case your electricity goes out. Don’t forget to the check the batteries in that unit as well.
Consider replacing your fire extinguisher if it is old or purchasing one for your kitchen, garage, fireplace and basement.
Thank you for taking the time to read my Guide and wish you a Happy and Safe Holiday Season.
