December Storm 2007…
I guess the biggest thing that has happened to me as of late was the December storm on the coast of Oregon. I think all in all it was the most terrifying experience in my entire life! We lived in Bay City, OR at the time. The winds reached 148 mph, with sustained winds over 100 for 36 hours. There had been 20 inches of rain in the 24 hrs prior to the storm, so it wreaked havoc on our poor city, and up and down the coast. Buildings were flattened, roofs were gone, trees widows peaked, and blown down everywhere. The 100 yr church downtown lost its steeple. There was a landslide going down our main hill to the hwy, and everydirection on every road hadHUGE trees down. It sounded like freight trains . I still shudder and get teary every time I think about it!!!!
