Ebay and PayPal Scam
About a year ago, I received an e-mail message from what looked exactly like an e-bay web site, informing me that my account needed to be updated, therefore they needed my account name and password, otherwise my account would be deleted. I gave them this information, but then realized this was a mistake, so I quickly changed my password and name before anything could happen.
Another time, I received an e-mail message from looked like a PayPal website giving me an invoice of an expensive item I did not pay for. It stated on the bottom of the page,”If you did not authorize this transaction, click here,” which I did. It then asked for my password, but it wouldn’t register, even after I tried three times. It then hit me that this was another scam, and that by trying to type in my PayPal password three times, the scam artist had proof that was indeed my password. Again, I quickly changed my password for this account as well.
I just wanted to inform people who sell things on e-bay about these scams.
