Engine Overheating Cadillac NORTHSTAR
The major overheating problem with Northstar engines are LEAKING headgaskets that’s because the factory on the 94 to 03 engines just drilled the head bolt holes in the aluminum block and the bolts will begin to loosen because the aluminum threads won’t hold the bolt tension, if you need headgaskets on the 94-03 GM you will have to drill the head bolt holes in the block and put in GM’s STEEL threaded inserts once that’s done you will not have a headgasket problem, but it’s not cheap it will be at least $4,000.00 So buyers BEWARE of overheating Northstar engines. I know have been there and done that.
