FUEL ECONOMY SCAMS ARE ALL AROUND US
With the price of gas skyrocketing, all the ??nventors??are out in force with their widgets and gadgets; all based on a logical sounding misrepresentation of some scientific theory such as ion alignment (magnets) or hydrogen generation.
Please let common sense prevail. If there was a way to turn a standard automotive engine into a 100 mpg vehicle, there would already be someone, somewhere driving it. There are people who have been working on that problem for years now. You are not going to get the results from a $40-100 add on kit to your car.
My favorite scams:
Magnets to align the molecules??based on what theory? Magnetic reactance theory? Have you ever scene how big the electromagnet is in an MRI (hint: you are laying on it) and that only aligns the molecules for nana seconds (.0000001 seconds) at a time. How effective do you think that two refrigerator magnets are going to be?
PVC pipe turns hydrogen generator??while technically this device works, it works so inefficiently that it uses more gasoline to create the 12 amps needed to generate the extremely small amount of hydrogen can replace. There might be a reason that it has cost millions of dollars to invent the efficient hydrogen generators used in today?? hybrids.
Back to reality:
With cars being manufactured all over the world by different corporations in different countries, if it were possible to get more mpg out of a combustion engine don?? you think that it would already be happening? Do you really think that the car manufacturers in places like Korea and China would not be producing them just so they can be like Japan in the 70?? and show up the American car manufacturers?
The real way to fuel economy:
Put your money into maintaining your car in top performance condition. Keep your rolling resistance at a minimum by keeping you tires inflated. Lighten your load by getting rid of all the unused junk stored in your trunk. Most importantly, drive easy.
