I had a similar experience of being scammed trying to buy a car from what I thought was eBay motors. They list it on and then when you are interested all contact in outside of . They do a great job of mimicking an site all the way down to my user id appearing on the “invoice”. All the links take you directly to the real sites so you think you are dealing with . They even wrote a safety tip which looks identical to all other safety tips, but this safety tip encourages you to use Western Union and do an instant wire transfer to an representative. My rep was in Detroit, Michigan. Supposedly, the rep holds your money until you have the car and are happpy with it. The story that sold this scam was that the car was taken off because they had a potential buyer and the communication was between and them and then and me. Like I said, I thought I was dealing with , so be careful. A few tips that states…make sure you know what it looks like when you are signed in…how does your user id appear. Don’t ever give user id info or personal info. I did not give much personal, but they did get my address because i thought they were shipping my car. The story is that they have a relative that works for DAS which is the shipping company uses and the shipping was going to be free. I got hooked into this because it was a nice car and i just sent an email to the seller telling them I liked the car. I hope this guide helps others. Their mimicked site really does look like an motor site. Be careful.
