God’s Gift to a Single Man Living on Doghair Mountain

I have a white lab that sheds like it is 150 Degrees year round. My house is 99% hardwood floors, so I come home to tumbleweeds after cleaning a few days before. Okay, let’s be honest, a week before. Dog hair is a constant on my floors and I am too lazy to keep up.

Then I got Roomba. I have been interested in it for years but never bought one. When the new 500 series came out, I read some reviews from people who have been Roomba users for years and they were really impressed. That was enough for me, so I went for it.

I bought the Roomba 560 on eBay and it arrived very quickly. Luckily, it arrived on a Friday so I had the weekend to play around with it. I let it do an initial charge overnight, and put it to work the next day. Let me tell you folks, I have never been so impressed with anything. This little vacuum is such a workhorse! I pressed the CLEAN button and Roomba left its charging station and began the hair removal. It found its way around my house, going under furniture, over tall rugs, stopping at the stairs and walls. When it found a particularly dirty spot, it circled until it got all the dirt and hair. It even cleaned the corners by using a side-mounted brush…very impressive. It literally cleaned for 45 minutes and covered four rooms during that time. When its battery got low, it moved back to its charging base and recharged. I was completely blown away!

After the initial cleaning, I started playing with the scheduling feature. Very intuitive and simple. I set it come on at 7:00 that night and waited anxiously. Sure enough, at 7:00 it came to life, left its charging station and did another 45 minute cleaning before returning to charge.

It sounds stupid, but Roomba is the greatest invention I have ever owned. It comes on during the day when I’m at work and keeps the floors free of dog hair. Let’s face it – I would never vacuum every day, so Roomba is perfect for me. In summary, the engineers at iRobot (the company who makes Roomba) are my new heroes. All of my friends have seen the results and are buying Roombas too. You will not be sorry!

Great Features:

• 7-day schedule for cleaning
• Cliff sensors keep it from falling down stairs or drop-offs
• Bumper sensor to prevent running into walls
• Side-mounted brush to clean corners and wall edges
• Removable dust bin and replaceable filters and brushes
• Optional Wireless Control – You can direct where Roomba goes to clean and program the scheduling features, etc. (Only for Roomba 560 and above)

Could Be Improved:

• Bigger Dust Bin (Suitable for once a day, but I’m lazy remember?)
