How to repair vintage jewelry

Many times you have vintage jewelry that states its junk jewelry and you purchase said items on .Well why not fix these items and resell them to make a profit. If you have necklaces that are broken srings are bad then you can repair them with nylon or cord purchased at your local crafts store. If its pins you can purchase pin backs from the same said craft store and just jewelry epoxy to repair them. I have also taken vintage jewelry that was nice but had missing stones and replaced them with stones found at the crafts stores or online at one of the sites . In fact its easy to find many items you need on local web sites for repair. I find that the use of epoxy to repair jewelry is the best some of the products that are for jewelry do not hold as well. Its not that hard to do just use gloves and mask if you are sensitive and work in an open well ventilated area following package directions. I have also found that many vintage beads if missing beads or broken can be reworked into nice necklaces that can be worn by buying new beads and restringing the beads mixing old and new . I even use the old clasps to add to the feel of the vintage. To end my guide I state dont throw away the old make it new and enjoy.
