How to use Stoneware Cookie Molds
Stoneware cookie molds are a fun, beautiful and unique way to make cookies. You can also use the molds to form chocolate, candles, paper and beeswax. Some of the molds are highly collectable! My favorites are the shortbread molds which are very detailed.
The best results when making cookies with the molds are to start with well chilled dough. The mold should be carefully oiled and floured lightly. Press the dough firmly into the mold. Once done baking turn the mold upside down over a baking sheet and allow to cool slightly. Gently pull down on one of the edges of the cookie using a knife edge, then peel the cookie loose. It is important to lighty flour the mold again for each cookie.
CHOCOLATE COOKIES
1/2 c. butter, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 egg 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, 1 t. vanilla, 2 c. flour, 1/4 t. salt, 1/4 t. baking powder.
Melt chocolate over stove and set aside to cool slightly. Mix together butter and sugar. Beat in the egg, melted chocolate and vanilla. Mix the flour, salt and baking powder together and add to the butter/chocolate mixture. Chill for 1 hour. Form and bake at 375 degrees until the cookies look dry and the edges are dark.
