OF OUT OF EBAY online car buying.
I’ve had my share of ‘im only selling because im in the Army, or im getting divorced’ but ‘i will ship the car at my own cost’. They tell you that they are protected by the eBay VPP, but if you don’t buy the car THROUGH eBay, it’s worthless. These people usually sell newer cars at ridiculusly low prices and its usually because they have some kind of financial hardship. The transaction usually involves an ‘eBay Financing Center Agent’ who is after all just another scamer, some kind of electronic funds transfer, like MoneyGram or something and lots of ‘eBay’ emails. But these emails never have a direct link.
Listen to your brain! If they tell you that they are working with eBay, why aren’t they selling thru eBay??? Also, when you can, run a CARFAX on the vehicle, see where it’s registered. And then ask where the car is located. And do your math. How much does the shipment of a car cost? and how much are they asking for the car? does it make sense???
It never does make sense. That’s a given. And when all else fails, ask for their eBay id, to contact about the seller. They wont give you the correct one… if at all.
