SELLER BEWARE…!!!! PAYPAL RESOLUTIONS POLICY

Hi all,Just a little note to EXPLAIN paypals resolution policy for buyers unrecieved items CLAIMS.

I recently had a buyer claim he did NOT recieve the camcorder i sent her . This was in retaliation for filing an unpaid items claim on 1 camcorder she did NOT pay for, which i won.

Paypal informed me of the case against me and i responded with what i THOUGHT was very good evidence against her claim.

1. The feedback she left me for the camcorder, stating she was very happy with the purchase and had recieved her movies.

2. The copy’s of the letters she had sent me on the EBAY site which showed she had recieved the camcorder and was going to buy many many more.

3. The postage reciept dated the day after her purchase which showed her ZIP code and price of the mailing. These items were purchased by media mail and she did NOT opt for any of the extras (Insurace or Confirmation)

4. The facts that she had recently had Both her accounts SUSPENDED at EBAY and had just recently got them back on somehow.

5. The fact that a yahoo people search on this person showed THREE different places of residence ALL with the same street address but in three different city’s BUT all with the same Phone Number.

Thinking i had no problem with this claim i was soon to discover how very WRONG i was….!!! Seems like PAYPAL (which is also an EBAY company) has only ONE SIMPLE RULE…!!!

1. DO YOU HAVE A DELIVERY CONFIRMATION RECIEPT…!!!!

Thats it plain and simple, no checking with no nothing.

She won her case BUT happy to report i did get her Kicked off of EBAY and she is NO longer able to pull her little games.

So just a little warning for all you out there ,unfortunately there are many unscrupulous people that use s and PAYPALS very LAX policy’s to thier own Benefit.

Hope this helps you sellers , GET THAT CONFIRMATION and SAVE it for at least 45 days.

PLEASE ENTER WHETHER THIS WAS HELPFUL OR NOT IN BOX BELOW. Thank You , Yabe-E*bay :o)

Mig Welders

Thermal Arc Fabricator 251 Mig Welder. Thermal Arc is a division of Thermadyne a multi line manufacture, They also own Tweco/Arcair, C&G Cutting Sytems, Turbo Torch, Thermal Dynamics Plasma Cutting Machines, Victor Cutting Torches, and Stoody welding products.

The Fabricator 251 is in the same class of machines as the Miller Electric Millermatic 251 and the Lincoln PowerMig 255C. They all have outputs in the 30-250 range but the real numbers when buying a machine is its duty cycle. The Miller and Lincoln both show their duty cycles to be 40% @ 250 amps. The Thermal arc is 50% @ 250 amps and it comes with other features that both Miller and Lincolns machines dont. It has Spot & Stitch Timer built in and also an Adjustable Burnback Control, and it has a Trigger Hold Switch for long welds. It has two positive stud to refine inductance to help adjust to a wide range of shielding gases. Now the best part is you can buy them for about $ 1200.00 on line @ weldersexpress on .com

Concession trailers and Food Cart Stands

So you are shopping for a concession trailer or a food stand. I have some information for you to consider before you purchase.

First, consider the product you are going to sell and all the equipment you are going to need to prepare that product. That will give you an idea as to the space you are going to need in your trailer or cart.

Second, please know that there are regulations from the health board, fire marshall and bureau of motor vehicles in which your trailer will need to be up to code.

You can contact your state health department and ask them the type of permits necessary for your trailer or cart. Some states require employees to get a food handlers permit also.Your stand will also need a certain amount of sinks, water heaters, thermometers, and other equipment required by the health board. Please be sure to get all the information you can when you call them.

You will also need to know the fire marshall code. You can contact your local or state fire marshall to get the requirements for your state. They will be able to tell you the number of fire extiguishers needed, electrical and ground requirements and other information required by your state.

Once you get the basic idea of your equipment, health board and fire marshall requirements you will have a better picture of what type of trailer or stand will meet your needs.

Some other information you may want to consider for your trailer are:

1. If the serving windows have screens to minimize pest.

2. If there is adequate window and vents…so if you are using a deep fryer you are not overheating yourself.

3. Also consider the height of the serving window. Is it adequate for your patrons to approach. Is there an awning to keep them out of the rain. (You will get sales when it rains because people use that awning to keep dry).

4. Another thing to consider about the serving window is the height inside the trailer. Are you having to bend way down to serve people? Some trailers have what is called a well floor. That is a floor that has been lowered in the middle of the trailer to keep your height accurate for the serving window. Some cargo and camper trailers transformed into concession trailers do not have well floors and can be very uncomfortable to work in.

5. Another thing that is important to consider is the size of the trailer. There a few things to consider here. Make sure you have a vehicle that can safely tow the trailer or cart. The department of Motor Vehicles can tell you requirements for towing the vehicle such as trailer brakes and lights. The DMV can also inform you of titles and types of registration fees you will incur upon purchase of your trailer or cart.

Another reason to consider trailer size is some “spots” or fairs you may set up in charge you a set up fee based on the length of your trailer. For example if you have a spot at the county fair they may charge you 100 dollars per foot. therefore a 14 foot trailer would then cost 1400 dollars just to set up at that fair.

6. With that in mind . You should call potential spots and ask what set up fees are. So you can calculate that in before you buy your new trailer or cart.

7. Some other information you will need to run your business:

1. You will need to look into state and federal taxes.

2. You will need vehicle and liability insurance.

3. You will need to make contact with your potential suppliers.

Hope this helps and….

Good Luck with your new Business Adventure!

THINKING INSIDE THE BOX: Packing materials

THINKING INSIDE THE BOX: Packing materials

You item has sold, now you have to pack it for mailing. Do you plan to just toss it in the box? Unless it is something unbreakable like clothing, this will not sit too well with your buyer.

So here are some ideas on thinking inside the box. What to use to get your item safely to its new owner.

  • Newspaper: Newspaper, because of the newsprint is messy. And since it is made of wood if you use enough of it, it can add considerably to the weight of your parcel. But say you are sending something in one of those flat rate priority boxes and you don’t want to spend a lot on packaging materials - then newspaper may be the way to go. To keep newsprint off the item you are mailing, put the crumbled paper inside a clean used plastic bag. Both of these materials are free and that is a plus.

  • Plastic bags: Cheap to use, lighter than newsprint . Great for overwrapping your item to keep it clean in the event that something disastrous happens to the box (falling in a puddle for example). The downside to using plastic bags is that you need an awful lot of them to fill up the same amount of space that crumbled newspaper would. The temptation may be there if you run out of bags is to underpack and have the buyer receive a broken item.

  • Styrofoam peanuts: An old standby, static cling not withstanding. :) Light, relatively cheap. Downside: They are a pain to store and get everywhere for both you and the customer.

  • Bubblewrap: Comes in various sizes of bubbles from 1/16 of an inch up to an inch and more. Not the cheapest way to pack but one of the best. TIP : Always place the bubbles on the outside rather than against the item, especially china pieces. They seem to pick up the imprint of each bubble and it is hard to get rid of these marks.

  • Corrugated adhesive cardboard by the roll: This packaging material is great for books. Used with bubblewrap it is the perfect way to ship books. The bubblewrap goes on the inside- bubbles away from the book. The corners of the book are reinforced with bits of cardboard taped to the bubblewrap and the corrugated cardboard is then placed around the book with the adhesive side down. The advantage of this for packing books is you don’t have to hunt for a box of the right size for the book and you don’t have to fill the extra space in a box that doesn’t quite fit. Downside: To save on the cost of corrugated adhesive cardboard you need to buy a big roll of it and then find a place to store it. I have one hung up in the garage across the beams.

  • Box within a box system: This is the one I use the most for our bakery. A box within a box is the perfect way for us to ship fragile items such as cookies. Of course you need to add packing material around the box inside the box so that it has a snug fit. Anything rattling around inside a shipping box is in danger of being damaged. So take the time to add enough packaging and then give your package a shake to see if anything rattles. If anything sounds like it is shifting around - add more packing material.

  • Other packaging materials: There are new products coming on the market all the time. It’s best to check the convenience of the packaging material against its cost vs the cost of other ways packing for shipping. For example, as a bakery we never put anything but new, food approved materials against our products. The boxes that hold our items inside the postal priority boxes are specially ordered from a bakery supply house. Our bubble wrap is not recycled for shipping food items. But it could be reused to ship other items as long as they are not edibles. There certainly is nothing wrong with using recyled packing supplies for items such as books, clothing and so on. I just don’t do it for food. :)

DOBA DROPSHIPPING READ BEFORE YOU TRY THEM

I am writing this guide to tell you of my experience with DOBA so that you can decide for yourself if you want to do business with them. I did a search for dropshipping companies and found DOBA. I signed up for their free 7 day membership. I used their service and listed items on . I found the markup from DOBA on the items to be low. If you can’t have a 40% markup on the products you sell it is a waste of time, you will make more money working for a fast food restaurant. A couple of days after I signed up I received a telephone call from DOBA offering me a 15 month membership to their service for $390. That sounded good only $26 a month. So like an idiot I said yes. The next day I really started looking at the DOBA and did not like what I saw. I could buy products cheaper from Overstock . Com and Amazon.com than from DOBA, and that was at retail prices. I researched the company online and found a lot of negative information inside and outside of . It is also important to understand the only way to cancel your account is by phone. I called them to cancel my membership. I made this call within the 7 day ‘free’ membership time. I was told that since I bought their 15 month subscription to their service it was too late. After much talking I was allowed to cancel my account, but they would not refund my $390. According to them I still will have access to them but no refund. Another point to remember that anytime you talk to them they are recording your conversation so think before you speak.

I used my credit card to pay for the subscription and I have contacted my bank to dispute the charges. After talking to my bank’s representative she felt it was a fraudulent charge also. So if you do use them research first and use a credit card only, so that you can have some recourse through your bank. This company is located in Orem Utah. I am also going to explore any remedies I have through the Utah State Dept of Commerce.

They sold me because they advertise that they are a certified drop shipper. I hope that will take a close look at them because they are using the logo and reputation to sell their service. THIS COMPANY IS A MIDDLEMAN OPERATION THEY MAKE MONEY ON FEES AND PRODUCTS. LOCATE A DROPSHIPPING COMPANY, PAY THEIR FEE, GET A FED TAX ID NUMBER AND START MAKING MONEY ON EBAY AS A REAL, PROFESSIONAL AUCTION BUSINESS. As an update I did get my money refunded after going to the Better Business Bureau and the State consumer fraud department.
