The next item we want to come up with is a <b>descriptive paragraph</b> for the front page of your <b>Web Site</b>. It needs to be similar to the above one we will use in the <b>Meta Description Tag</b> but slightly different. This one we will put near the top of your main page. You will note that they give their company name, where they operate and phone contact numbers. A LOT of <b>search engines</b> really like this as it gives them some assurance this is a <b>reputable company</b>. Potential customers like it too. <br><Br>

Now we have what we need to get started so move your index.html file from your server to your hard drive, if you haven’t already done so. Then bring it up in WordPad and lets start optimizing your page.<br><Br>
First thing is before you modify anything save a copy of the page as index.backup

This way if you mess it up really bad all you have to do is rename index.backup to index.html and reload it into your server and you will be back where you started from with nothing lost This is a good idea all the time even if you are an expert at html. You don t know how many times I have not done a backup and for some reason lost the page completely. It happens especially if you are in a hurry or get interrupted while working.<br><Br>
OK now that the page is opened you will see several tags near the top of the page. Usually the first one we want to deal with is the Title tag.<br><Br>
It would look something like this.<br><br>

What we want to do is use your <b>key phrase</b>. Lets assume it is Voice Recognition and Speech Recognition

We are now done with the metatags. <br><Br>
Next we move onto your main page. You can find this usually immediately after the <FONT COLOR=”BLUE” ><Body></FONT> Tag on the page. Another simple way to do it is to look at your page and see where the first words or images start appearing and then look for that in your file on WordPad.
